At Capturing Legacies, we continue to capture stories. Stories that matter. Stories that help mankind know itself, and stories that show where we came from as well as all that we have been through. Every day more and more people are recognizing the importance of recording life stories.
If you have ever wondered how you can give back, and contribute in some way to a worthy cause, please consider our new crowdfunding campaign. Through this opportunity, Capturing Legacies will record the stories of those people who would otherwise never have the chance to do it themselves.
Alternatively, no matter where you are in the world, you can still contribute through your ability to write and communicate with people. Take a look at the volunteer opportunities available with Capturing Legacies and do your part to record real history from the people that lived it.
Yes, puppies are cute and pretty much irresistible, but a puppy would only be a small part of your child’s entire life. What if you could give your child the ultimate gift, the gift of immortality?!
Imagine for a moment if your parents recorded every event of your life as you were growing up. They had photos of you right from your birth through to your graduation. They wrote down who your teachers were, your classmates and friends. What if they wrote down all the details of every family vacation and family gathering. Maybe they even have video clips or even pictures of all the artwork you created when you were growing up. Wouldn’t that be something? As you got older you could take over and record the rest of your life, as it happens!
With our online life story software you can capture your child’s life from day one. It is easy to use and you can even upload videos and images. At any time you can connect, even on your smartphone, and write down anything you like about your child’s life. Perhaps you have some words of wisdom for their future? Maybe you have some important things to tell them that they are too young to understand right now.
For a small monthly subscription, AStoryNotForgotten.com will give you the easy-to-use tools to record your child’s life. Other family members can connect and contribute as well. Don’t you wish your parents could have done this for you?
Get started today, your children and future generations will thank you forever.

When you look back on a person’s life and consider what they have accomplished, consider what actually matters. Is that life defined by the nice car they drove or the education they received or the job they worked?
What about yourself? When you think about your life, what is the first thing you think of? What defines YOUR life?
You probably think back about where you came from and what you have been through in your life. Some more pondering may bring up various accomplishments that you have achieved or perhaps even some regrets. There are people you once knew and events that may be forever burned into your memory.
Some people believe they are not really that interesting, but actually, if you think about it, you have been alive for 365 days multiplied by your age. So even at 25 years old you lived 9,125 days. It is pretty much impossible to say that nothing interesting happened to you in that period of time. If you are 50, you have been alive for 18,250 days. So what if you are not a rocket scientist working for NASA. You still have accumulated interesting life experiences.
Ultimately, when your journey on this earth is over, all your stuff and everyone you know will be left behind. Your possessions will be distributed in some way that you have no say in. The only thing that remains is your story. It is not too late to record your life experiences for future generations. If you don’t know where to start, we can help.
Remember when someone in your life, like a parent or grandparent, told you stories about their life? Remember how their eyes lit up when they told you about a time they were younger, the things that they did and places they had seen? Maybe you are now that person, telling your stories to your children or grandchildren. You really should be, it is very important to them.
Since the beginning of human existence stories have been passed down from generation to generation. Embellished or not, it is how valuable lessons are learned and wonderful adventures entertain and inspire. Some people learn from mistakes and others take a few lessons before they figure things out, but everyone experiences a unique and colorful life. The story of your life is more important than you might know and there are no two lives exactly the same. Many people don’t think that their life was all that interesting, but that’s because they were there, they lived it. To other people, that person’s life was very interesting.
I remember my father telling me about when he first came to Canada in the 1950’s and he worked for the railroad. At times It was very cold and he recalls being bundled up with only his eyes and the tip of his nose exposed to the elements. Outside, in the middle of nowhere, he cleared snow off the track switches so that trains could operate safely. To him it was just a really crappy job that he had when he first came to the country and didn’t yet speak English. To me it was a fascinating story that gave me a new perspective as to who my dad was and what life was like for him back then. When you look back through time, it is hard to imagine how the world was for previous generations. To experience it through the words of someone who was there and lived that life is priceless. We owe it to the future to tell our stories.
Imagine if the history of every person on earth was recorded, there would be an endless library of incredible stories. Family members would live on in the hearts and minds of future generations. Newcomers to the world could read about the lives and history of their ancestors, where they came from and how they lived their lives. Mankind would have a real understanding of how things like technology, politics and war have influenced our lives, from a real human perspective rather than just through the news and media reports.
Whether you think so or not, you have lead a fascinating life. Make your contribution to human history and record your life story.
