Volunteer Opportunities for Writers

Homeless man taking an unrecognisable woman's hand

From the beginning of mankind, stories were the key to the passage of knowledge, memories and experiences from one person on to others.  Tribal elders would tell stories to the rest of the tribe and warriors would tell stories of their accomplishments to children and anyone else who would listen.

Today, much of what we know has been kept alive through recorded stories.  Ancient Egypt, and other long lost cultures recorded their stories and because they did, we know who they were and what life was like for them all those years ago.

Life now can still be difficult, but it is not the same difficulty as it was a hundred years ago.  The people that lived back then are 100% responsible for the existence of all of us. If it was not for them, and their struggles, we would not exist today and all the things we have in our modern world would still be only a dream.

We take a lot of things for granted.  How much of our past history has already been lost?  Think of your own family, who were your great grandparents?  What did they do, where did they come from and where did their parents come from?  Most people cannot answer these questions.

The life story of every human is valuable.  Those stories help make up the history of mankind and one thousand years from now, how we lived and who we were is going to be very important.  Imagine how many people pass away every year that never record their stories.

Some people, however, do not capture their life story for various reasons. Either they don’t know how, they don’t think their story matters, or they are unable to get the help that they need to get it done. Volunteers help us to access these people, empowering them to have their story told, to be heard and realize that they matter and their story matters.

By volunteering, you help enable those who previously were unable to have their life story captured to express and record their own legacy. Their story matters, everyone’s story matters and you can feel good that your generosity has had a massive impact on people’s lives. Not only those who were able to tell their stories, but to all the current and future generations who will be able to enjoy them long into the future.

A Story Not Forgotten

Two Boys in a CanoeOften when we tell OUR story, and why we created this company, people smile and light up.  They tell us what a great idea it is and they start talking about all the things we could do with it.  They list people they would love to hear the life stories of and features we should have on our website.  We have never experienced so much excitement in so many people.  Clearly, we are on the right path as Joseph Campbell would say.

Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls.

Joseph Campbell

After all, how often can you do what you love, help people, and really make a difference in the lives of others, while still earning a living?  We wake up every morning excited to talk to our customers.  Each day we get to hear the most incredible stories about triumph, sorrow, love, tragedy, achievement, comradery, faith and adventure.  Stories better than any movie you have ever seen, because they are real.  The people are real.  The adventures did happen and the accomplishments are truly great!

To our clients, thank you so very much for allowing us to capture your legacy.  We are honored to work on your project.  Your life story deserves to be recorded for generations to come.
